Reverend Dr. Jerry D. Marable
Reverend Dr. Jerry D. Marable was born in 1972 and is a native of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He is a graduate of Riverdale High School. As a lover of the game basketball, he was able to play all 4 years of his high school career and went on to be selected as a member of the 1991 All Rutherford County Basketball Team. In June of 1995, Rev. Marable accepted and acknowledged his call to the ministry. Since that time, Rev. Marable has served in various capacities such as: Ministries’ Coordinator of the U.N.I.T.E.D. Ministers’ Alliance (U.M.A.), Dean of the Congress of Christian Workers and District Missionary of the Smithfork District Association. Additionally, he has served on various local boards and committees and called upon to preach and lecture in churches and conferences throughout the country.
From June 2010- June 2011, Reverend Marable served as the interim pastor at the Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Reverend Marable served as the Interim Pastor for the Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN (2012-2013). In July of 2013, Reverend Marable became the 22nd
Pastor of Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He believes in “Steering the Ministry, Shepherding the Members and Serving the Master.
Reverend Marable served as the Dean of Congress of the Christian Workers andEducation of the Missionary Baptist State Convention of Tennessee for eight years (2003-2011). He also served as the Dean of Congress and Missionary for the Smithfork District Association. Reverend Marable served as the Moderator (youngest ever) of the Smithfork District Association from 2014 - 2018. Reverend Marable
served as the Vice President of the Missionary Baptist State Convention Congress of Christian Workers and Education for eight years (2011-2019). Reverend Marable served as the President of the Missionary Baptist State Convention Congress of Christian Workers and Education from 2019-2023.
Currently, Reverend Marable serves as the Moderator of the Smithfork District Association in Murfreesboro, TN.
Reverend Marable obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and Theology from the American Baptist College, formerly the American Baptist Theological Seminary in Nashville, Tennessee. Reverend Marable received Certification in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from Erlanger Hospital System in Chattanooga which is accredited
through ACPE. This Unit was received December 12, 2016. Reverend Marable earned his Master of Divinity Degree from Morehouse School of Religion of the Interdenominational Theological Center (also known as the ITC) in Atlanta with Honors. His concentration was Psychology of Religion in Pastoral Care. He was the 2017 Martin Luther King Award recipient from the Morehouse School of Religion. In 2019, Reverend Marable was conferred a Doctorate of Ministry Degree from the Saint Thomas Christian University (Honorary). Reverend Marable received his Doctoral of Ministry Degree from the Memphis Theological Seminary (MTS).
Reverend Marable is a much sought after speaker and workshop leader. He regularly conducts various workshops on various compelling topics such as: The Baptist Doctrine, The Doctrines, Diagram and Duties of the Church, Spiritual Growth, The Prayer Seminar, The Role and Responsibility of the Associate Minister, The Music Ministry of the Church, The Leadership of the Church, just to name a few.
With a personal mission to deliver the anointed Word of God to educate, empower, and equip humankind. Rev. Marable’s mission statement was inspired by Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ that strengtheneth me.” He believes that this verse presents the sureness, scope and source of the hope of his calling.
Reverend Jerry D. Marable has been happily married to the former Courtney P. Brooks, affectionately known as “Wifey” since 2010. She is the wind beneath his wings.
